1655 charsFederal Financial Institutions Examination Council Updates Uniform Bank Performance Report Loan Nomenclature
On July 9, 2026, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors announced that the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) member agencies will implement changes to the Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) on or shortly after August 10, 2026.
The revisions, led by the FFIEC's Task Force on Surveillance Systems, include updates to UBPR loan category nomenclature and minor modifications to the Liquidity and Funding page. The UBPR is a standardised analytical tool used by bank supervisors and examiners to assess the financial performance and condition of financial institutions. The changes to loan category nomenclature reflect updates to how loans are classified and reported within the system, while modifications to the Liquidity and Funding page enhance the reporting framework for assessing institutional liquidity positions. These updates support more accurate and consistent supervision and examination practices across state and federal banking regulators.
UBPR users, including state and federal banking supervisors, examiners, and financial institutions, should prepare for implementation of these changes by the August 10, 2026 effective date. Users requiring additional information or clarification on the specific changes should contact the Call Detail Record (CDR) helpdesk at [email protected] or 1-888-237-3111. Comprehensive details regarding the UBPR modifications are available on the FFIEC's Latest Updates page.

1241 charsUS Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council Updates Uniform Bank Performance Report
On July 9, 2026, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council's (FFIEC) Task Force on Surveillance Systems announced several updates to the Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR). The revisions affect UBPR presentation only and do not alter any underlying ratios, numbers, or bulk download data.
Key changes include:
UBPR Presentation Titles: The financial institution regulatory agencies, under the direction of the FFIEC Task Force on Surveillance Systems, identified inconsistencies in UBPR line item titles on the asset quality pages (7, 7A, 7B, 8, and 8A) of the UBPR. To improve clarity and consistency, titles derived from identical loan Call Report concepts will be aligned accordingly.
Liquidity Page 10 : An additional wholesale funding ratio, defined as Wholesale Funding + Public Funds to Total Assets (new ratio), will be incorporated into the UBPR. This metric will include deposits from states and political subdivisions held in domestic offices within the numerator. In addition, several ratios on this page will be realigned.
These updates will take effect on or around August 10, 2026. The new ratio will be populated only for five quarters until September 2026 when 21 periods of data will be made available.
