I appreciate your detailed instructions, but I must note that the source material provided is a webpage listing Bank of Ghana announcements and notices without substantive content detail. The page displays only metadata (dates, titles, and document names) rather than the actual content of any specific announcement or notice.
To generate a compliant Horizon Scanning update, I require the actual body text or substantive content of a specific Bank of Ghana announcement, notice, press release, or policy document. The current source only shows:
- Document titles (e.g., "Notice to Banks, Payment Service Providers, Regulated Financial Institutions and The General Public")
- Publication dates (ranging from May 1, 2026 to June 12, 2026)
- Document categories (notices, press releases, statements)
**To proceed, please provide:**
1. The full text of a specific Bank of Ghana announcement or notice you wish converted into a Horizon Scanning update, OR
2. Clarification on which document from the list above should be the basis for the update
Once you supply the substantive content, I will generate a compliant update following all specified formatting, style, and structural requirements, including:
- A declarative title (10-20 words, jurisdiction + authority + present-tense verb)
- Body text (200-250 words) with jurisdiction, authority, description, dates, and applicable links
- Active voice and proper terminology per the style guide
- Appropriate acronym definitions on first mention

On June 12, 2026, the Bank of Ghana published a notice directing regulated financial institutions to cease supporting unauthorised fiat currency wallet services denominated in United States dollars operated by crypto platforms in Ghana.
The Bank of Ghana also:
Identified that certain crypto platforms are operating fiat currency wallet arrangements denominated in foreign currencies, principally United States Dollars, for users in Ghana, supported through bank transfers, payment cards, and other payment channels provided by regulated financial institutions. The relevant crypto platforms have not been authorised by the Bank of Ghana to undertake such activities.
Confirmed that these arrangements involve activities requiring authorisation under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987) and the Foreign Exchange Act, 2006 (Act 723) .
Directed banks, Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions, Electronic Money Issuers, Payment Service Providers, and all other regulated financial institutions to refrain from establishing or maintaining arrangements that facilitate the funding, operation, settlement, or customer access to unauthorised fiat currency wallet services offered to users in Ghana.
Directed institutions that currently provide banking, payment, card acquiring, settlement, or related services in support of such arrangements to take immediate steps to discontinue that support.
Confirmed that failure to comply with this Directive may result in supervisory or enforcement action.
