Finland Amends Legislation on Lender and Credit Intermediary Registration Requirements

On the date of publication, Finland enacted legislative amendments to sections 14 and 15 of the Act on the Registration of Certain Lenders and Credit Intermediaries (Act 353/2026), as published in the Finnish Statute Book (Suomen säädöskokoelma) by FINLEX. The amendments modify the registration requirements applicable to lenders and credit intermediaries operating in Finland. These provisions establish the framework governing how certain lending entities and intermediaries must register and maintain their status with relevant Finnish authorities. The changes to sections 14 and 15 represent updates to the existing regulatory framework for these market participants. The legislation is now in force as enacted and published in the Finnish Statute Book. Market participants subject to the registration requirements under the Act on the Registration of Certain Lenders and Credit Intermediaries should ensure compliance with the amended provisions in sections 14 and 15. Lenders and credit intermediaries should review the specific amendments to understand any changes to their registration obligations, documentation requirements, or other administrative procedures.
