On 31 March 2026, the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro passed a decision supplementing the Decision on Payment System Reporting to the Central Bank of Montenegro, pursuant to Article 44 paragraph (2) item 3) of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law and Article 55 paragraph (2) of the Payment System Law. The decision introduces a new Article 8a to the existing reporting framework, establishing a transitional reporting requirement for payment service providers. Under the new provision, payment service providers must submit their first report using the templates prescribed by the Decision Amending the Decision on Payment System Reporting to the Central Bank of Montenegro within the deadline prescribed for the submission of reports for the second quarter of 2026. This amendment addresses the implementation of updated reporting templates and ensures a coordinated transition to the new reporting standards across the payment services sector in Montenegro. The decision was issued by Central Bank Governor Irena Radović and published under Decision number 0101-2626-5/2026. The decision enters into force on the eighth day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Montenegro. Payment service providers operating in Montenegro should ensure compliance with the new reporting requirements and submit their first reports using the updated templates by the second quarter 2026 deadline.
