TITLE: Kahnawake Gaming Commission Increases Licensing and Permit Application Fees

On August 13, 2026, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission announced an increase in application and renewal fees for Client Provider Authorizations (CPAs) and Key Person Permits, effective January 1, 2027.
The Commission increased CPA application fees from USD $35,000 to USD $40,000 (inclusive of the first-year annual fee), while the annual fee remains unchanged at USD $20,000. The five-year renewal fee for CPAs increased from USD $5,000 to USD $40,000 (inclusive of the annual fee). For Key Person Permits, the application fee increased from USD $5,000 to USD $6,000 (inclusive of the first-year annual fee), with the annual fee remaining at USD $1,000. The five-year renewal fee for Key Person Permits increased from USD $5,000 to USD $6,000 (inclusive of the annual fee).
The Commission noted that CPA fees had only been adjusted twice since their introduction, most recently in 2016, while Key Person Permit fees had never been increased since their initial establishment. The revised fees are intended to reflect the work and costs associated with processing applications, conducting due diligence, assessing renewals, and supporting the Commission's ongoing regulatory oversight. The increased fees apply to all complete CPA and Key Person Permit applications and five-year renewal applications submitted on or after January 1, 2027. Applications and renewals submitted before January 1, 2027, will continue to be assessed under the previous fee schedule, even if finalized after the effective date. Existing annual fees for current CPAs and Key Person Permits remain unaffected by this notice.
