TITLE: United States Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control Adds Six Individuals and Five Entities to Cuba Sanctions List BODY: On August 6, 2026, the United States Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added six individuals and five entities to its Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List) under Cuba Executive Order 14404. OFAC simultaneously issued a new Cuba-related Frequently Asked Question, FAQ 1264, to provide guidance on Cuba sanctions compliance. The six individuals designated include Oscar Enrique Biosca Gallego, Monica Milian Gomez, Waldo Perez Cortes, Jose Antonio Remon Rodriguez, Heriberto Sanchez Alleyne, and Roberto Jesus Viciana Mousset. All individuals are Cuban nationals or have Cuban connections. The five entities designated are state-owned enterprises and commercial entities based in Havana: Empresa Cubana Exportadora e Importadora de Servicios, Articulos y Productos Tecnicos Especializados SA (also known as Tecnotex SA); Empresa Cubana Importada y Exportada de Productos Tecnicos (also known as Technoimport); Empresa Militar Industrial Yuri Gagarin; Sociedad Mercantil Duna SA; and Union de Industria Militar. These entities operate in wholesale machinery, vehicle maintenance and repair, non-specialized wholesale trade, and defence activities sectors. OFAC also updated existing SDN List entries for Roberto Legra Sotolongo, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces, and Alvaro Lopez Miera, correcting biographical information including dates of birth and passport details. These designations prohibit U.S. persons and entities from engaging in transactions with the designated individuals and entities. Financial institutions and businesses subject to U.S. jurisdiction must block assets and freeze accounts associated with these designations. The updated SDN List is available on OFAC's website.
