TITLE: Slovakia's National Bank Revokes Financial Intermediary License for Compliance Failures
BODY:
On June 29, 2026, the National Bank of Slovakia (Národná banka Slovenska, NBS) revoked the financial intermediary license of K&G Brokerage s.r.o., a capital market financial agent based in Bratislava. The decision became effective on July 9, 2026.
The NBS identified multiple compliance breaches during a remote supervision examination conducted between June 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025. The primary violations included: failure to maintain continuous professional competency requirements, as two key personnel—Martin Gilány (professional guarantor) and Martin Klamár (statutory body)—did not complete mandatory advanced-level financial training and professional examinations in the capital markets sector by required deadlines; failure to submit quarterly financial intermediation reports for the periods ending September 30, 2024, and December 31, 2024, within the prescribed two-month submission windows; failure to submit the annual financial intermediation report for 2024 within three months of year-end; and failure to provide requested information and documentation necessary for regulatory supervision.
These breaches violated multiple provisions of Slovakia's Law on Financial Intermediation and Financial Advisory Services (Act No. 186/2009) and the Law on Financial Market Supervision (Act No. 747/2004), as well as NBS Measure No. 16/2018 concerning reporting requirements for financial intermediaries.
The license revocation was issued under Section 39(1)(d) of the Financial Intermediation Law, which permits the NBS to withdraw authorization from financial agents failing to meet regulatory obligations. K&G Brokerage's original license was granted on June 5, 2017.
