TITLE: Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission Strengthens International Cooperation Against Illegal Gambling BODY: On July 20, 2026, the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) announced enhanced efforts to combat illegal gambling internationally through expanded cooperation with foreign authorities and the establishment of a new internal division dedicated to enforcement. The GSC works with partner agencies across multiple jurisdictions to ensure Isle of Man licensed operators comply with local regulations and do not operate unlawfully in foreign markets. Recent cooperation includes work with Türkiye, where the GSC notified operators of foreign prohibitions, enabling Turkish authorities to enforce market-access rules more efficiently. The GSC also identifies and removes websites illegally purporting to hold a GSC licence, including sites using IP routing to appear based in or operating through the Isle of Man. The Commission maintains registers of current and previous licence holders on its website, alongside a list of 40 genuine and approved URLs operated by GSC licence holders. A separate register identifies websites fraudulently claiming GSC licensing or spoofing current licence holders' sites. To enhance its capacity, the GSC established an Intelligence and Enforcement Division within existing headcount. This restructuring rebalances workload across the Commission and enables greater specialisation, including dedicated resources for perimeter monitoring. The new division strengthens the GSC's proactive approach to identifying and addressing illegal gambling activity. Members of the public who encounter websites claiming to be GSC licence holders should contact the Inspectorate at gscgeneralsupervision@gov.im. Further information on informal and formal collaboration with partner authorities is available on the GSC's international cooperation page.
