TITLE: Australian Communications and Media Authority Blocks Additional Illegal Online Gambling Websites

On July 15, 2026, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) requested that Australian internet service providers (ISPs) block additional illegal online gambling and affiliate marketing websites following investigations that found these services operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The ACMA identified and requested blocking of ten illegal gambling sites, including Zizobet, KingAUD, Lucky Vibe, Daily Spins, Gambiva, Lightning-bet.com (which imitated the licensed LightningBet service), Hot Pokies Group, Pokies99, Betcoin, and TenoBet. Website blocking represents one of several enforcement options the ACMA employs to protect Australian consumers from illegal online gambling. Since November 2019, when the ACMA made its first blocking request, ISPs have blocked 1,774 illegal gambling and affiliate websites. Additionally, more than 230 illegal services have voluntarily exited the Australian market since the ACMA began enforcing new illegal online gambling rules in 2017.
The ACMA emphasised that illegal gambling services lack important consumer protections, meaning Australians who use such platforms risk financial loss. The authority reminded consumers that services may appear legitimate despite operating illegally. The ACMA maintains a public register where consumers can verify whether a wagering service holds a licence to operate in Australia. The authority provides additional resources on its website, including guidance on protecting against illegal gambling operators and instructions for reporting illegal sites. This enforcement action reflects the ACMA's ongoing commitment to combating unlicensed online gambling activity in Australia.
