TITLE: Denmark's Financial Supervisory Authority Issues Inspection Report on Danske Bank's Finnish Business Exposures BODY: On June 29, 2026, Denmark's Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) published an inspection report on Danske Bank A/S' business exposures in Finland. The FSA conducted the inspection during March and April 2026, examining 49 loans to economically weak customers and 50 cases related to the bank's risk appetite in granting business loans in Finland, including expansions of existing facilities. The inspection assessed whether the bank's write-downs on Finnish business loans as of September 30, 2025 complied with accounting regulations, and whether Danske Bank responded appropriately and timely to signs of weakness. The FSA identified errors or deficiencies in 16 of the 49 examined cases involving economically weak customers. Key findings included: four cases where the bank failed to adequately review financial materials, with three cases lacking sufficient accounting information to enable proper analysis without additional bank documentation; four cases where the bank mishandled accounting treatment of weakness indicators, including two instances where the bank failed to identify objective indicators of credit impairment (OIK) by September 30, 2025, resulting in additional write-downs of 25.5 million Danish kroner; and 11 of 35 cases where action plans lacked documented concrete and forward-looking measures or sufficient argumentation for chosen strategies and follow-up procedures. Following the inspection, the FSA issued a directive requiring Danske Bank to ensure that concrete and forward-looking action plans are developed for exposures with higher-than-desired risk, and that sufficiently close and documented follow-up occurs. The inspection did not result in changes to the bank's solvency requirements.
