TITLE: France's National Gaming Authority Establishes Technical Display Requirements for Gambling Risk Warning Messages BODY: On June 9, 2026, France's Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) adopted Decision No. 2026-133, establishing technical specifications for displaying mandatory risk warning messages on platforms offering monetised digital gaming objects. The decision implements provisions of Law No. 2024-449 of May 21, 2024, which aims to secure and regulate the digital space. The warning message—"Your gaming activity may be dangerous: money losses, family conflicts, addiction, etc. Find our advice at joueurs-info-service.fr (09 74 75 13 13 - non-premium call)"—must appear in three locations on gaming platforms: the homepage, immediately after user registration, and on pages where players access account management settings. The ANJ specifies precise technical requirements for message display across these locations. On the homepage and account management pages, the message must appear in a contrasting-coloured box occupying at least 10 percent of screen height and the full screen width, remaining fixed and permanently visible without scrolling. The text must use Roboto bold capitals in a colour contrasting with the box background. Following registration, the message appears in a temporary modal box covering at least 30 percent of total screen area, centred both horizontally and vertically, displaying for a minimum of five seconds without user closure capability. A countdown timer indicates remaining display time. During this period, the underlying webpage becomes non-interactive, covered by a dark overlay with minimum 40 percent opacity. In all instances, the message comprises two lines of text, with the government logo either right-aligned or centred at the box bottom within a white rectangle. The entire message box functions as a clickable link directing users to www.joueurs-info-service.fr. The ANJ published this decision on its website on June 12, 2026. Gaming platforms offering monetised digital objects must comply with these technical specifications when displaying mandatory risk warnings to players.
