TITLE: Netherlands Central Bank Imposes Penalty Order on Yoursafe B.V. for Missing Financial Reporting Deadline
BODY:
On February 5, 2026, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) imposed an order subject to penalty on Yoursafe B.V. (Yoursafe) for failing to submit its independent auditor's report on the 2024 financial statements and annual accounts by the required deadline of December 31, 2025. The enforcement measure was published on June 11, 2026.
Yoursafe's failure to submit the required documentation constituted non-compliance with the Financial Supervision Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht – Wft). As a remedial measure, DNB issued an order subject to penalty requiring Yoursafe to submit the independent auditor's report within ten working days of the order's issuance. Since Yoursafe failed to comply with this requirement, it must pay a penalty of €12,500. The order subject to penalty is a standard enforcement tool used by DNB to compel regulated entities to meet their supervisory obligations, particularly regarding financial reporting and transparency requirements applicable to electronic money institutions and other supervised entities.
Any interested party may lodge an objection against DNB's decision within six weeks of its date. Following an objection, a decision on the objection can be appealed in court within six weeks. Further appeal against the court ruling may be lodged with the Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal (College van Beroep voor het bedrijfsleven – CBb). If no objection, appeal, or further appeal is lodged, the decision becomes irrevocable. Yoursafe lodged an objection on February 18, 2026, which it subsequently withdrew on April 22, 2026.
