TITLE: Chile's Financial Markets Commission Launches Consultation on Information Reporting Requirements for Securities Intermediaries BODY: On June 1, 2026, the Financial Markets Commission (CMF) published for public consultation proposed regulatory files establishing information reporting requirements applicable to securities intermediaries and commodity exchange brokers in Chile. The CMF proposes two key regulatory frameworks. The first addresses monthly reporting to determine entity classification within business volume blocks (categories 1, 2, or 3). This classification mechanism establishes the basis for applying proportionality criteria in compliance with General Standard Regulations (Normas de Carácter General) N°510 on operational risk management for securities market entities; NCG N°528 on corporate governance and risk management for securities intermediaries and commodity exchange brokers; and NCG N°562 on minimum capital, guarantees, liquidity, and leverage for securities intermediaries and commodity exchange brokers. The second framework requires monthly and daily reporting on minimum capital, guarantees, liquidity, and leverage to supervise compliance with NCG N°562. The proposed regulatory file for business volume blocks classification will enter into force on September 1, 2026, with the first information submission required in October 2026. The regulatory files for NCG N°562 supervision will enter into force on March 1, 2027, with the first information submission due April 1, 2027. The CMF established extended implementation timelines to allow entities adequate time to develop necessary systems and processes. The public consultation period closes on June 26, 2026. Interested parties can access the full proposals in the "Normativa en Consulta" section of the CMF website, which also includes a Regulatory Report summarising the key contents of both proposals.
