TITLE: Seychelles Financial Services Authority Takes Enforcement Action Against MX Global Ltd for Unlicensed Virtual Asset Services BODY: On May 26, 2026, the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) announced enforcement action against MX Global Ltd, a Seychelles-incorporated International Business Company (IBC), for operating the MEXC cryptocurrency exchange platform without the required licence under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 (VASP Act). The FSA's Virtual Asset Services Supervision Section (VASSS) identified MX Global Ltd (IBC No. 238047) as the entity operating MEXC following ongoing supervisory and investigative efforts, including assessment of submitted information, publicly available data, and collaboration with local and international regulatory partners. The platform was historically associated with MEXC Global LTD (IBC No. 218833), which was struck off the Seychelles register on August 17, 2023, and automatically dissolved on December 18, 2024. Following the VASP Act's enactment and the end of the regulatory transition period on January 1, 2025, no licensing application was received from any entity associated with the platform. The FSA determined that MX Global Ltd breached Section 5 of the VASP Act by carrying on virtual asset services without required authorisation from January 1, 2025, to the present date, and breached Section 5(2)(g)(ii) of the International Business Companies Act, 2016, by conducting virtual asset services as an IBC without the necessary VASP Act licence. The FSA is initiating appropriate enforcement measures, including referral to relevant competent authorities for further assessment and consideration of legal action. The Authority emphasises that MX Global Ltd is not authorised to provide virtual asset services in Seychelles and advises the public to exercise caution when dealing with the entity or platform. The FSA notes it cannot intervene to investigate or facilitate fund recovery given the unlicensed status. Persons with concerns are encouraged to contact the FSA at complaints@fsaseychelles.sc or relevant law enforcement authorities in their respective jurisdictions.
