TITLE: Italy's Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies Launches New Instant Lottery Game with Remote Participation
BODY:
On May 7, 2026, Italy's Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) issued a directorial determination launching a new national instant extraction lottery with remote participation called "100X NEW LIT". The lottery was proposed by the concessionaire Lotterie Nazionali S.r.l. in November 2025 as part of its 2026 marketing plan and received approval on January 26, 2026.
The lottery operates under the framework established by Ministerial Decree 197 of November 14, 2025, which reformed Italy's instant lottery regulations. Each ticket costs €20.00. ADM will distribute two initial batches of 11,040,000 playable tickets each, with a total prize pool of €183,144,000 per batch. Prize distribution ranges from €20 to €5,000,000, with the largest single prize at €5,000,000. The pay-out ratio corresponds to the relationship between the total prize pool and the aggregate value of each ticket batch. Additional batches may be generated during the lottery's operation based on collection performance, maintaining proportional prize distribution across all prize categories.
Winnings up to €10,000 are credited directly to players' gaming accounts through remote retailers and can be withdrawn according to the player's gaming account contract. Winnings exceeding €10,000 require submission to either the Lotterie Nazionali S.r.l. Prize Office in Rome or an Intesa Sanpaolo bank counter. Players must submit claims within 45 days of the lottery's closure date, which ADM will announce separately. Winnings above €500 are subject to a 20 percent withholding tax on the amount exceeding €500, in accordance with Italian law. The determination takes effect upon publication on ADM's official website.
