TITLE: Colorado Lottery Commission Approves New Scratch Games and Reports Strong Sales Performance
BODY:
On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Colorado Lottery Commission held an online meeting presided over by Chairman Stan Podolski, with all five commissioners in attendance. The Commission unanimously approved two new scratch games for launch on June 22, 2026: Game 421, a $3 "Winning Country" game with three top prizes of $30,000, and Game 423, a $10 "Colorado Gold Rush" game with two top prizes of $250,000. Both games are eligible for the monthly $100,000 Second Chance Bonus Draw.
Scratch game sales for March 2026 totalled just over $54.1 million, representing a $13,000 increase from the prior year and tracking $5.5 million ahead of the $611 million fiscal year 2026 goal. However, the $1, $2, and $3 price points are tracking below prior year sales. Jackpot game sales for March reached $17.7 million, up 7.5 percent from February but down $4.1 million compared to March 2025 due to multiple jackpot hits during the month. The new Millionaire for Life game has performed exceptionally, generating $4.9 million in sales over its first six weeks—a 96 percent increase compared to Lucky for Life during the same period last year. Year-to-date, the Lottery is up approximately $20.8 million (10 percent) overall.
The Commission also received updates on the Walgreens partnership expansion, with Scientific Games reporting 17 new retailers licensed in Q1 2026—double the prior year figure. Brightstar announced the appointment of Adriana Artega as Senior Manager of Business Development. The Lottery continues to track ahead of projections to meet the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) cap and the $3 million minimum for the Outdoor Equity Fund. The next in-person Commission meeting is scheduled for May 2026.
