BODY:
On May 2, 2026, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree implementing sanctions against five individuals whose actions threaten Ukraine's national interests, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The decision was made by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The sanctioned individuals include Ukrainian lawyer Andrii Bohdan; Ukrainian businessman Bohdan Pukish, described as an associate and partner of previously sanctioned Viktor Medvedchuk; Russian businessman Alan Kiriukhin, identified as a key manager of the sanctioned A7A5 payment system used to circumvent sanctions; and Stanislav Pozdniakov and Mikhail Mamiashvili, described as functionaries and propagandists of Russian Olympic sport.
The restrictive measures imposed include deprivation of Ukrainian state awards, asset freezes, suspension of trade operations, prevention of capital withdrawal from Ukraine, suspension or revocation of licenses and permits, and a ban on participation in privatization and rental of state property. The sanctions are imposed for a 10-year period, with the exception of deprivation of Ukrainian state awards, which is applied indefinitely. The decree represents Ukraine's continued enforcement of sanctions targeting individuals and entities supporting activities contrary to Ukrainian national security objectives.
