TITLE: Ukraine Initiates European Union Entry Ban and Sanctions Against Nearly 130 Russian Military Commanders BODY: On March 15, 2026, Ukraine submitted documentation to the European Union proposing an entry ban and sanctions against nearly 130 Russian military commanders accused of committing crimes against Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure. The submission includes detailed personal data—including dates of birth and document identification numbers—for each individual, along with information on approximately 300 of their relatives. The list encompasses Russian military personnel from long-range aviation units, naval forces, and ground-based missile forces who have systematically participated in missile strikes against Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. The documentation identifies 35 Russian personnel from the 44th Separate Special-Purpose Aviation Regiment and the 52nd, 121st, 200th, and 182nd Heavy Bomber Regiments, along with 89 family members. Since Russia's full-scale invasion began, long-range Russian aviation has launched more than 4,100 cruise missiles at Ukraine. The submission also includes 67 occupiers serving as crew members and commanders of surface and submarine missile carriers and coastal missile systems, with 155 family members identified. These naval forces have conducted approximately 160 missile strikes using more than 1,500 sea-launched cruise missiles. Additionally, 34 Russian personnel with access to ground-based missile systems are listed, along with 92 family members. Ground forces from Russia's 1st Missile Brigade and the 12th, 26th, 40th, 64th, 92nd, 103rd, 107th, 112th, 119th, and 448th Missile Brigades have been involved in more than 220 missile attacks. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that ensuring those participating in the war against Ukraine cannot enter European Union countries remains a priority, noting European support for the initiative. Since the invasion began, Ukraine has imposed sanctions on more than 300 individuals from Russia's military leadership and security services.
